Easter Springerle Cookies

Easter themed, hand-painted Springerle cookies. Springerle is an old German recipe that is a thicker cake-like cookie with a light crusty top. The dough is pressed into wooden molds, creating intricate designs. The process to create and bake is time intensive, but worth every bite! Cookies are hand-painted with an edible powder paint.  Springerle cookies last for up to three months and actually taste better as they age!
